More than three decades of legal practice and law firm leadership with Latham & Watkins forms the foundation of Jack’s consulting practice. In addition to serving as Latham’s Managing Partner and chairing its Executive Committee from 1988 until 1994, Jack practiced tax and business law at Latham for over 30 years.

Under Jack's leadership, Latham diversified its practice, expanded its domestic and international footprints, established a robust marketing and communications function, and emphasized its pro bono and community service programs. While at Latham, Los Angeles Daily Journal named Jack one of California’s 100 most influential lawyers for six consecutive years.

Jack’s distinguished career has been characterized by a strong record of leadership in the legal profession and in his adopted state of California. While at Latham, he served a wide range of civic and professional groups. Appointed by Mayor Riordan to the Los Angeles Business Tax Advisory Commission, which is reforming the Los Angeles business license tax, he was reappointed by Mayor Hahn, and served as Co-Chair. Whether in leadership roles for the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce; for the Board of Directors of Public Counsel, the largest public interest law firm in the United States; or for a County Bar Task Force on State Court Jury Reform, Jack makes community involvement a significant component of his professional commitment.
